  1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

By using any Skim product or service — including the Skim website (skim.plus), Chrome browser extension, iOS application, Android application, or any other platform through which Skim is made available (collectively, the "Service") — you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

  1. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE

Skim, by Credible AI Inc., is an AI-powered content analysis platform that:

  • Extracts key points from YouTube videos and provides selective playback of key segments
  • Analyzes news articles from supported publishers, categorizing claims and identifying sources
  • Provides AI-generated assessments including content scoring, source identification, and claim categorization
  • Enables sharing of analyses via persistent URLs
  • Operates across multiple platforms including web browsers, browser extensions, and native mobile applications

Skim's analyses are generated by artificial intelligence and represent the platform's independent AI-generated assessment of content. They do not constitute professional advice and should be considered alongside other sources. Skim is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any content creator, publisher, or platform whose content is analyzed.

  1. ELIGIBILITY

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction to use online services without parental consent) to create an account and use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

  1. USER ACCOUNTS AND AUTHENTICATION

The Service offers authentication through supported identity providers, which may include Google, Apple, and other methods. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

You may request deletion of your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting us at [email protected]. Upon account deletion, we will remove your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.

  1. SUBSCRIPTION AND PAYMENT

The Service is currently offered free of charge. We may introduce premium features, subscription plans, or other paid offerings in the future. If we do:

  • Details on plans, pricing, and billing cycles will be provided before any charge is made.
  • You will not be charged without your explicit consent.
  • Payments will be processed through a third-party payment processor.
  • You may cancel any paid subscription at any time through your account settings.
  • We reserve the right to change subscription fees or adjust free usage allowances with reasonable notice.
  1. FREE TRIAL

We may offer free trials of premium features. Specific terms of any trial will be presented when you sign up. You will be notified before any automatic conversion to a paid subscription, and you may cancel before the trial ends to avoid being charged.

  1. CONTENT AND THIRD-PARTY PLATFORMS

a) Content Analyzed by Skim: The Service analyzes publicly accessible content from third-party platforms and publishers. Skim does not host, reproduce, or redistribute the underlying content. All content remains on its original platform and is accessed through standard publicly available means.

b) YouTube Content: The Service uses the YouTube API Services to access and analyze YouTube video content. By using Skim's YouTube-related features, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service (https://www.youtube.com/t/terms) and acknowledge Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy). Skim's analyses of YouTube content are the platform's own independent AI-generated assessments and are not endorsed by or affiliated with YouTube or Google.

c) News and Publisher Content: The Service analyzes articles from supported news publishers. Content accessed through the Service remains subject to the terms and conditions of the originating publisher. Skim's analyses constitute independent commentary on publicly accessible content.

d) Your Content: If you submit content to the Service (such as feedback, comments, or content for analysis), you retain ownership of that content but grant Credible AI a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, process, and display that content within the Service solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service.

  1. ACCEPTABLE USE

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Infringe upon the intellectual property or other rights of third parties
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
  • Interfere with the proper functioning of the Service
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or modify any part of the Service
  • Use automated means to access the Service in a manner that exceeds reasonable use
  • Misrepresent Skim's AI-generated analyses as your own original work or as professional advice
  1. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

The Service, including all software, content, features, functionality, trademarks (including Skim™, Credible AI™, and dubius™), and patent-pending technology, is owned by Credible AI Inc. and is protected by United States and international intellectual property laws. You may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works without our prior written permission. You may share analyses generated by the Service using the sharing features provided.

  1. USER FEEDBACK

If you provide feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the Service, you grant us an unrestricted, royalty-free, perpetual license to use that feedback for any purpose without compensation to you.

  1. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, OR RELIABILITY OF AI-GENERATED ANALYSES, CREDIBILITY ASSESSMENTS, CLAIM CATEGORIZATIONS, OR ANY OTHER OUTPUT OF THE SERVICE. AI-GENERATED CONTENT MAY CONTAIN ERRORS OR INACCURACIES. THE SERVICE SHOULD NOT BE RELIED UPON AS A SOLE SOURCE OF INFORMATION FOR MAKING DECISIONS.

WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.

  1. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, CREDIBLE AI INC. AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE SIX (6) MONTHS PRIOR TO THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO LIABILITY, OR (B) FIFTY DOLLARS ($50).

  1. INDEMNIFICATION

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Credible AI Inc. and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

  1. DISPUTE RESOLUTION

PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY AS IT AFFECTS YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS.

a) Informal Resolution: Before initiating any formal proceeding, you and Credible AI agree to attempt to resolve any dispute informally for at least sixty (60) days after written notice. Notice to Credible AI should be sent to the contact address in Section 23.

b) Binding Arbitration: If informal resolution fails, disputes will be resolved by binding arbitration under the Commercial Arbitration Rules of the American Arbitration Association ("AAA") and, where applicable, the AAA Consumer Rules (available at www.adr.org). YOU UNDERSTAND THAT YOU ARE WAIVING YOUR RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL. Credible AI will generally cover arbitration costs exceeding standard court filing fees for non-frivolous consumer disputes. The arbitration may be conducted in person, by phone, or online. The arbitrator must follow applicable law.

c) Exceptions: The following are not subject to arbitration: (i) claims to enforce or protect intellectual property rights (limited to injunctive relief); (ii) claims qualifying for small claims court; (iii) claims related to theft, piracy, or unauthorized access.

d) Time Limit: Any dispute must be brought within one (1) year after the cause of action arose.

e) Venue: Any in-person arbitration proceedings shall take place in Hillsborough County, Florida.

  1. CLASS ACTION WAIVER

ALL DISPUTES MUST BE RESOLVED ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS. YOU WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT OR CLASS-WIDE ARBITRATION.

  1. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. The application of the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods is expressly excluded.

  1. ASSIGNMENT

Credible AI may assign or transfer these Terms and its rights and obligations in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets without prior notice to you.

  1. FORCE MAJEURE

Credible AI is not liable for any failure to perform due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, pandemic, war, terrorism, government action, labor disputes, power or infrastructure failure, or third-party service outages.

  1. EXPORT CONTROLS

You agree to comply with all applicable export and re-export control laws and regulations in your use of the Service.

  1. CHANGES TO TERMS

We may modify these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted at skim.plus with a revised "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after modifications constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you (such as through the Service, by email, or via a notice on our website). Changes to the Dispute Resolution section (Section 14) will not apply retroactively to disputes for which notice was provided before the change was posted.

  1. TERMINATION

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections 9 through 16 survive termination.

  1. SEVERABILITY

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.

Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision.

By using the Service, you consent to receive electronic communications from us. You agree that electronic communications satisfy any legal requirement for written communications.

  1. ENTIRE AGREEMENT

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Credible AI Inc. regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
