Introduction to Ksp and Molar Solubility
The solubility product constant (Ksp) is a specific type of equilibrium constant used for ionic solids dissociating in water, analogous to Ka and Kb for acids and bases. It is defined as the product of the concentrations of the dissociated ions, raised to their stoichiometric coefficients. Molar solubility (X) represents the concentration of the solid that dissolves, and it is directly related to Ksp through ICE table calculations.
